Mind the Mind

Often the practical mind has difficulties understanding the theoretical mind; it needs an interpreter. The theoretical mind beholds the valleys and mountains afar upon the horizon... while the practical mind dodges the rocks and the hurdles on the way. Its focus is on the path that supports its progressive travel. Often the practical mind comes to a crossroads, putting efforts in assertion of choices, and choosing one. 'Tis the theoretical mind that is devoid of these, focusing persistently onto the blue mountains, resiliently relentless. It theorizes the route, optimizing the essence rather than the efficiency of the path. The practical mind attempts to understand, either failing or changing the wagon in the process; but one thing is for sure - it affects a change. Its somewhat true the other way round too...

Tirumala Hills (Part 1) - A Night in the Jungle

Sept 25th, 2010, 12:36 am…. No. It wasn’t a dream….  I opened my eyes. I was on a soft and smooth bed of granite stone, gazing at the stars. I wondered who stole the tent at this time of the night and in this thick forest. Then I realized I was not in the tent. God has made everything so perfectly jigsaw that it is impossible for man to put it together. And when he finally can - after a lot of contemplation, meditation and enlightenment - he’d prefer to leave it to

A 2-day pinch of Pench

7 th  May, 2010 - 9:37 PM… “Auto! Zara jaldi chalo miyaan!!!” Darn it!  Zindagi mein aaj ich milna tha ye taambail ki speed ka auto ?!  Driving on the Hyderabad-Secunderabad Highway @ 30 kmph! Gosh! On the 1.62 km stretch of the Tankbund road, I could have almost ran at that speed (never been in a marathon though and hardly know the world record) ! However, come 9:45, I am dot at SriKaleshwari Travels… finding about 6 of the 22 already there! So much for my punctuality. I am greeted by the lively and enthusiastic Dr. Vibha Naik who happens to be an anestheologist (pardon if any typo errors). Looking at the stringent and full-length instructions drawn up so meticulously by the GHAC, I was sure that if I am delayed for even a minute, she would give me multiple measures of anesthesia. But she was an absolute lady, congratulating a Hyderabadi for reaching on time!  It was interesting to meet people of different professions and from different walks of life. Mostly they were th
